spooky appetizers

If you are looking for a last minute Halloween appetizer, give one of these a try.  The first two ideas are mine, the rest are some I've tried over the years, and really enjoyed.  Happy Halloween!

Combine equal parts of your favorite pimento cheese dip, cream cheese and cheddar cheese to create the pumpkin cheese ball.  Form a loose pumpkin shape and then allow to chill in the refrigerator for at about 30 minutes.  Then add lines, pretzel stem (or celery) and baby arugula.

Peeled citrus with a little Tootsie Roll in the middle might convince the kids to grab something to eat besides candy...

The witch sticks are a healthier choice, skinny pretzels, cheese sticks, and chives. The jalapeño poppers need to be served pretty hot, so a better choice if you are serving them at your house, but tasty.

And you can't miss it by bringing a 7-layer dip.  Make it as you like, and then add a spooky sour cream spider web to make it perfect for Halloween.
